URK: Week 11

11/24/09
Week 11 Power Rankings
Only one close game this week to provide the excitement amidst a bunch of blowouts. Two more teams – the Fat Cats and Kenny Gee Wilikers – were able to clinch playoff berths, while one team was eliminated and one other all but technically eliminated. However, the nearly all the seeds are still up for grabs with such a tight distribution, and so it’s great to see a number of head to head rematches these final two weeks to sort things out.

12. Minions

Record: 2-9; Last week’s ranking: 12
They just played a team with two running backs out to injury. And still lost. Can it get any worse?

11. Cactus!! WATCH OUT!!

Record: 4-7; Last week’s ranking: 11
The Cactus got the win to stay out of the bottom, but all is not well. Injuries have decimated this team.

10. Baby Daddy Buller

Record: 4-7; Last week’s ranking: 10
Nice win to keep their slim playoff hopes alive. They still need some help, however, and will need to pull off a couple of upsets to make it happen.

9. Clay Davis All-Stars

Record: 4-7; Last week’s ranking: 7
Another tough loss leaves them right where they started, on the bubble. Not to look too far ahead, but they just might be headed for a winner take all showdown in Week 13 with the Daisies.

8. Blinder Squirrels

Record: 5-6; Last week’s ranking: 9
Exactly the effort they’ve needed throughout the season. The win is huge in that it gives the Squirrels control over their own destiny again in these last two weeks of the season.

7. Granite Daisies

Record: 5-6; Last week’s ranking: 6
Terrible loss gives them two in a row after things were looking secure, and makes the next two weeks far more interesting than they would hope. With the Blitzers next on their schedule, the Daisies are no longer a lock for the playoffs.

6. The Schmuckernators

Record: 5-6; Last week’s ranking: 8
Hang on in a thriller.of a game to continue their recent surge. As we all learned last year, fantasy football is all about getting hot at the right time, and the Schmuckernators certainly are potato-like at this point.

5. Cupcakes of Doom!

Record: 6-5; Last week’s ranking: 5
Take a tough loss and miss a chance to grab the upset and gain ground on the competition. They’ve still got good potential for moving up if they can fix these inconsistency issues popping up over the last few weeks.

4. Kenny Gee Willikers

Record: 7-4; Last week’s ranking: 3
Bad time to go on a losing streak. If the Wilikers can’t get things turned around in a hurry, they could find themselves slipping a lot further than looked possible a few weeks ago.

3. Cool Runnings

Record: 6-5; Last week’s ranking: 2
Lose a tight one, setting up a great showdown next week with the Wilikers in a matchup that has a good chance of determining a top three seed.

2. Fat Cats

Record: 7-4; Last week’s ranking: 4
Solid win to position themselves well for the stretch. As long as they win out, they should grab the 2 seed and a nice draw in the bracket.

1. Ritzy Blitzers

Record: 11-0; Last week’s ranking: 1
After their dominant win over the Cupcakes, only two more cupcakes stand in their way against a perfect regular season. It sure looks like smooth sailing from here.
