URK 2011: Week 2 Power Rankings
This week was filled with blowouts; about the only excitement was wondering which team would post the biggest point differential (the Bacons narrowly edged the SharkLions, Zs, and Rostrums among those posting 40+ point obliterations). The other big storyline this week was, well, also blowouts. Sadly, injuries hit hard in Week 2, and it was an especially bad week for ACLs, hammies, and un-punctured lungs. Hope you aren’t as banged up as your fantasy team!
12. SayHi2YourMother4Me (Kenan)
W-L: 0-2
Last Week: 10
Average Ballot Position: 11.3
Right now, the SayHi’s are the worst team in the league, and it’s not even close. Consecutive sub-65 point efforts will do that sort of thing. Let’s hope that Foster comes back fully soon, because otherwise this is going to be one miserable season.
11. Minions (Chris)
W-L: 0-2
Last Week: 11
Average Ballot Position: 11.0
After a respectable Week One, disaster struck the Minions last week. Not only did they get crushed, but with the season-ending loss of number one pick Charles, well, the future doesn’t look too bright for a team that was already precariously thin depth-wise.
10. Jehovah's Jockstrap (Brett)
W-L: 1-1
Last Week: 12
Average Ballot Position: 8.2
Pretty remarkable effort for a team that looked so lethargic last week. And it followed their script for success perfectly; a strong running game leading the way with solid contributions elsewhere. A good sign for a team looking to build some credibility.
9. Obese Geese (Steve)
W-L: 1-1
Last Week: 6
Average Ballot Position: 7.8
That’s two weeks of pretty substandard performance. It’s starting to look like these guys aren’t nearly as good as we all initially thought. Big early season game against the Schmucks next week; another bad showing and it might be time for the SlimFast to come out.
8. A Sheep at the Wheel (Jaron)
W-L: 0-2
Last Week: 3
Average Ballot Position: 7.5
The Sheep win this week’s award for biggest fall. Still, it was an especially bad week, and the schedule eases up, so it wouldn’t be a surprise for them to start to work their way back. I’d wager good money that this is just an early season blip for the Sheep.
7. Rostrum Records (Luke)
W-L: 1-1
Last Week: 9
Average Ballot Position: 7.3
Much improved from their initial impression – I guess that sort of thing happens when the Steelers defense looks normal and Gronkowski catches a few TDs in that TE slot. They still look a little shaky at the skill positions, but we’ll have a better idea in a few weeks which of these first two weeks was the aberration.
6. The Schmuckernators (Jason)
W-L: 1-1
Last Week: 5
Average Ballot Position: 7.0
And on the flip side, the Schmucks regressed pretty significantly this week. Is it too early for a shake up? Without Rice performing spectacularly, this roster appears to lack some real dynamism, especially from the RBs.
5. Cupcakes of DOOM! (Adam)
W-L: 1-1
Last Week: 8
Average Ballot Position: 6.5
The Cupcakes may have lost this last week, but they legitimized themselves with a second straight strong showing and have been rewarded in these rankings. This is a pretty good team after all, right now. At least until the NO or PHI offenses implode, that is.
4. Bacon Cheeseburgers (Andy K.)
W-L: 2-0
Last Week: 7
Average Ballot Position: 3.8 (1)
Tremendous performance after some problems in week one. And with Jackson poised to return, they are likely to only get better. Hard to imagine these guys falling into the lower half of the rankings again anytime soon.
3. The Dyin' SharkLions (Danny)
W-L: 1-1
Last Week: 4
Average Ballot Position: 3.3 (1)
The DSL’s found that posting the 2nd highest score in a week doesn’t always lead to victory, so they went out and posted the highest score this week. Injuries may yet limit them in the short term (3 of their 4 top receivers are questionable), but the rest of the team is firing on all cylinders.
2. Stars (Dan)
W-L: 2-0
Last Week: 2
Average Ballot Position: 2.2 (1)
The Stars played well this week, did nothing to harm their status as an upper division team, sit atop the standings, and place solidly in second here. Ho-hum. This kind of boring consistency doesn’t sell tickets. Moving along!
1. Z Power (Andy G.)
W-L: 2-0
Last Week: 1
Average Ballot Position: 2.0 (3)
While they waltzed to an easy win against the SayHi’s, the Z’s face a much tougher challenge against the SharkLions this week. It’s their biggest test yet as they attempt to hang on to the number one spot. Losing Hernandez and (maybe) Vick could be a big blow to this team, but thus far the Z’s have proven plenty able to handle the spotlight.

Hey Danny, a favor I have to ask of you. Can you put people's names in parentheses next to their team names? It seems like half the league has changed their team names and I don't know who's who.
Done.
