URK 2016, Week 2

Last year, Yahoo's predictions were...not awful. While they certainly missed wildly on some teams (hello underestimated Schmuckernators, and overestimated Concuss), the predictions did correctly identify the two best teams at the end of the year.

But still, they suck, right? I thought it'd be interesting to see how we perceive their quality. And so we present...(drumroll here)...the results!

Interestingly, we--that is, the collective we, with N=5--expect the predictions will be within a game or so for almost half the league. That probably could be considered a win for the machines. We do think the Stars and Feels are quite underrated by Yahoo. Not that hard to do, when the initial predictions call for 1 and 2 wins, respectively. Both teams were winners last week, so it's conceivable those goals could even be met this week! On the flip side, we think the Scorpions are rather overrated--and they lost last week, so the challenge of winning 10 games looks quite distant at the moment. Of course, there's a lot of games to be played...so we'll check back in later on and see how good we are about predicting on the predictions.
