Week 4 Rankings, 2012

The presidential candidates are debating tonight. But, the more important debate is going on in these polls…and boy, is it fierce! Let’s see how everyone stacks up. And, even better, let’s see how everyone looks as they stack up...that’s right, I’ve finally got around to grabbing the new avatars! All…4 of them. Way to bring the creative effort! Is it any coincidence that the top 2, 3 of the top 5, and 4 of the top 7 have new images? I think not!

11. Minions (Chris)

Well, it took a few weeks, but after a month of play the Minions find themselves in a sadly familiar place. Injuries and lack of depth are starting to eat away at the foundation of this team.

11. Yakety Sacks (Jaron)

The Sacks struggled through another subpar week, and have to be wondering when and if their team will begin to gel. Right now, things aren’t looking too hot, but a win this week would be a nice start to a comeback.

10. Cactus watch out! (Steve S.)

The Cacti had a great week, but just came up short against the red-hot Geese. A loss is a loss, but at least they managed to climb out of the basement and erase the bad taste from last week’s rough showing.

9. Z Power (Andy G.)

A pretty decent week for a team that indeed has had one of the toughest schedules thus far, arguably – while the Geese and Minions have had more points scored against them, the Z’s have gone up against 3 of the 4 highest scoring teams thus far. But while the Z’s may be better than they first appear, they clearly haven’t reached the upper tier of the league, yet.

7. Bacon Cheeseburgers (Andy K.)

The computer loves this team, but 3 of the 4 weeks have been decidedly mediocre for the preseason favorite. They’ll hope to break their streak of underachievement soon, before the difficulty in their schedule increases too much.

7. Chi Don't Dance (Luke)

The computer hates this team, and really, they haven’t been too impressive thus far – still no triple digit outing. But, they snagged a nice win last week over the equally ranked Cheeseburgers, and have the chance to move above .500 for the first time this year with another win next week.

6. Obese Geese (Steve E.)

Well, we got our answer as to whether the Geese could follow up a monster effort, as they pulled out the new highest score of the year. It looking more and more like the first two weeks were the aberration.

5. MutantMennoMarauders (Brett)

Tremendous upset for a team that continues to defy the odds. The Marauders showed some teeth by knocking off the Carnage, and if they ever get fully healthy, they might just be truly dangerous.

4. ChalicePastryCarnage (Adam)

Last week was a second tough defeat for a good team that’s trending the wrong way. Luckily, the Minions are coming to town to heal their wounds – of course, if the Pastries blow that game, we’ll have to re-evaluate our opinion of this team.

3. The Schmuckernators (Jason)

The Schmucks rebounded nicely after their first defeat of the season and now get a great matchup against the PAC in the game of the week. Having played many of the top contenders early in the year means that after this week the schedule lightens considerably in the second half – could be a recipe for challenging for the top seed!

2. Sack Attack SuperPAC (Danny K.)

The PACs finally put together a complete game, and only an even better effort from the Geese kept them from the league’s overall highest scoring week. Unlike the Schmucks, however, their schedule is about to get much harder, starting with the aforementioned team.

Don’t sleep on the Stars! Don’t sleep on the Stars! The league’s most consistent team had their best week yet, and now find themselves at the top for the first time! Nice rise, for one of the true surprises in the league thus far.
