Preseason Rankings, 2012

Every year I tell myself I’ll write less about fantasy football, but that doesn’t seem to happen. Still, I find myself pretty busy around this time of year finishing up school. I’ll keep this first set of rankings short and sweet. But I’ll follow up Jaron’s note about average draft position with a bit of data from the previous six (!) years.

As you can see, there is almost no correlation between draft position and wins. But, we’ve also never had the outliers that we do this year thanks to the pick trading. So who knows if it’s better to snag several early picks or amass more mid-round picks?
